Liv’s Raku Wind Chimes have both a metallic and natural feel to them. You can see the flecks of the pine needles that scratched the surface of the glaze in the Raku process.
This is a pair of handmade earrings that cannot be replicated. Each of the ten pieces in the wind chime endured the Japanese firing process called Raku.
In a short period of time, the ceramic pieces are heated, removed from the kiln quickly, and let to cool under a metal barrel with a mixture of natural elements including pine needles, dead leaves, and newspaper clippings. Once cooled, I get to see what jewelry pieces survived the process.
Each pair of the Raku wind chime earrings are intentionally and imperfectly matched with a copper penny glaze shimmering on the top. These wind chimes feel like puzzles to make, stringing together complimentary metallic rainbow colors. The wind chime earrings make a melodic statement piece to any outfit.
